Grace Church is constantly engaged in the work of Missions both locally and globally. Each year the congregation supports many different missions projects through the work of the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference, direct support to missionaries around the world, and contributions to a varierty of local and global agencies which help persons in need. This Outreach facet of our ministry is an important aspect of our total church program.

Our church was founded in 1862 by a small group of believers from the Perryman area. They met in a one-room schoolhouse, 30 X 24 feet, hauled by 10 yoke of oxen from Sod Run (about two miles below town) to a site just south of the present location. The Methodist Church divided in 1865 into two groups, Methodist Episcopal Church South and Methodist Episcopal Church North, due to the feelings over the Civil War. Cranberry Methodist Episcopal Church South was organized on June 13, 1866 with five Trustees John M. Taylor, Daniel Martin, James Numbers, Joseph Everist Taylor and Joseph Wells.

The First Christian Church is one of 5, 500 churches that desire to be Christians and Christians only. We are a non-denominational fellowship of Christians that began in East Prairie, Missouri in the month of June 1883. The church started with thirty members and erected its first building in 1889. Then because of much growth, the church needed more room and erected their second building, beginning with the basement of the present building in 1932. The new building was dedicated on September 26th, 1948. Since it's beginning the First Christian Church has grown to a membership of over 250. Forty-Five senior ministers have graced our pulpit through the years, in addition to a few youth ministers. The church is here to serve the community of East Prairie and the surrounding area
