AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE (ANSI)

The Institute oversees the creation, promulgation and use of thousands of norms and guidelines that directly impact businesses in nearly every sector: from acoustical devices to construction equipment, from dairy and livestock production to energy distribution, and many more. ANSI is also actively engaged in accrediting programs that assess conformance to standards – including globally-recognized cross-sector programs such as the ISO 9000 (quality) and ISO 14000 (environmental) management systems. Although ANSI itself does not develop American National Standards (ANSs), it provides all interested U.S. parties with a neutral venue to come together and work towards common agreements. The process to create these voluntary standards is guided by the Institute’s cardinal principles of consensus, due process and openness and depends heavily upon data gathering and compromises among a diverse range of stakeholders. 8:30am – 5:30pm EST

Operating since 1973, the National Association for the Legal Support of Alternative Schools (NALSAS) was founded by its current CEO, Ed Nagel, who is also principal of the Santa Fe Community School. NALSAS was originally “designed to help interested persons/organizations locate/evaluate/create viable alternatives to traditional schooling approaches”---including home study. Subsequently, NALSAS established a process to accredit bona fide members of the National Coalition of Alternative Community Schools (ncacs.org), requiring an on-site visit be conducted by a qualified representative to members of NCACS and educational homeschooling programs that apply.

The WSBA is an administrative arm of the Washington State Supreme Court. It administers the admissions, licensing, and discipline functions for the lawyers in Washington. In addition, the WSBA provides many services to its 33, 800 members. The WSBA Service Center was established to respond to inquiries from WSBA members and the public. The Service Center handles inquiries about licensing fees, MCLE compliance, course accreditation, CLE seminar registrations and publication orders, membership information and other Bar-related topics.

International Student Exchange Cards (ISE Cards), Inc. traces it's founding back to 1958 at the University of Illinois, USA. The idea was to help students by enabling them to afford traveling by utilizing the International Discounts offered by ISE. The company was formally incorporated in 1987 in the State of Illinois, USA. The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Patent number: 1, 564, 435 on November 7, 1989. The ISE Card is the only student identification card to attain this accreditation and protection. Initially, ISE Cards were issued only to American students traveling overseas. By the late 1980's ISE Cards were also issued in Asia, followed by South and Central America, the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Australia and South Africa. Today, the ISE Card is sold in over 50 countries around the world.
