The Visit Office is ready to arrange a visit just for you. We want to provide the most comprehensive visit possible, so please contact us at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit date. While The Schaefer Yarn Company is just 18 years old, we have been hand dyeing variegated yarn commercially since 1980 - first in Mendocino, California, then in New York City. We now live and work in Interlaken, a village just north of Ithaca in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York, where Erich and I started Schaefer Yarn by ourselves.

Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum embodies the living heritage of Norwegian immigrants to America. Sharing this cultural legacy can inspire people of all backgrounds to celebrate tradition. With 16 historic buildings in its main complex, which occupies most of a square block in downtown Decorah, Iowa, and two National Register sites just outside the city, Vesterheim houses over 24, 000 artifacts, which include large samplings from the fine, decorative, and folk arts, and the tools and machinery of early agriculture, lumbering, and other immigrant industries. When Norwegian immigrants wrote back to Norway about Vesterheim, their western home, they spoke for countless others from many cultures who helped build a nation in the New World.

Cumulus Presents, Inc., formerly Cumulus Productions, has been producing music festivals and concerts since 1995; the first year of the Sebastopol Celtic Music Festival. The following year, 1996, saw the beginning of the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival, in the form of a one day Retrospective at Caswell Vineyards. In 2000, in conjunction with the Sebastopol Community Center, Cumulus initiated Jugalbandi, a music and arts in the schools project. The name is derived from the give and take period (at times playful) between musicians while playing an Indian raga. We have been fortunate to witness over the years the ripple effects of concerted positive efforts and interaction by an ever growing community of folks focusing together on the beauty of the cultural arts experience.

In the midst of the Northeast Minneapolis arts district, where young artists sport multiple piercings, rent studios, and live in lofts, stands a one-story building occupied by a nice couple of retirement age. But there is no culture clash here: Georgette and Henry Sosin are renowned and respected artists, at work in their gallery/studio on Washington Street Northeast . The Sosins re-envisioned the one-time corner grocery store. Today, intricate wrought-iron gates open to a courtyard and the sleek, modern gallery space inside. Georgette, also a sculptor, works mostly in paint these days in a studio tucked behind the main gallery, where she installs exhibits by invited artists - or displays by the Sosins themselves. Henry hand-builds clay pots in his studio on the lower level.
