Hours Monday-Thursday: 9:00-4:00 Friday: 9:00-6:00 Saturday: 9:00-Noon On March 15, 1889, eight men met in Room 7 of the West Side Lumber Company building at 5th and Oakland in Kansas City, Kansas. They discussed the scarcity of financing for home building in the area. Those eight men recognized both the growing appeal of homeownership and the need for a way to assist families who found it increasingly difficult to save enough money to build a decent home. By unanimous vote, Inter-State Building and Loan Association was formed that day. In 1956, the institution switched to a federal charter and changed its name to Inter-State Federal Savings and Loan Association of Kansas City.

Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9:00-4:00. Friday: 9:00-6:00. Saturday: 9:00-Noon. Along with the monthly principal and interest payment, you will be required to pay into a non-interest bearing account a monthly escrow payment. An escrow account is established so that Inter-State Federal can assure payment of recurring charges, such as real estate taxes and assessments that if unpaid could become a lien against the security property superior to Inter-State Federal's mortgage. In addition, many borrowers choose to have Inter-State Federal escrow for other recurring charges such as hazard insurance, disability insurance, or mortgage life insurance. Your loan documents will require that sufficient hazard insurance be maintained on the security property for the full term of the loan. You are responsible for payment of the insurance premiums, which may be substantial, even if your escrow payment does not include them.
