Aldersgate United Methodist Church began on September 9, 1962, when ten families joined together and took a great step of faith in organizing a new Methodist church. Over the past four decades, Aldersgate has continued to grow as a dynamic church in the North Georgia Conference. The First Christian Church is one of 5, 500 churches that desire to be Christians and Christians only. We are a non-denominational fellowship of Christians that began in East Prairie, Missouri in the month of June 1883. The church started with thirty members and erected its first building in 1889. Wilson (father of Woodrow Wilson) was pastor of the church, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States was formed at First Presbyterian, thus changing the face of our denomination.

Following the model of first-century Christianity, Jehovah’s Witnesses have no clergy-laity division. All baptized members are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work.
