The Historian also conducts oral history interviews with Departmental officials when they leave office and responds to a wide range of queries from students and professional researchers, government staff, the news media, and the general public. The Historian assists with historical exhibits and commemorations at the Department. Exhibits in which assistance is provided include the Labor Hall of Fame and the "Century of Service Honor Roll of American Labor Organizations".
