The Optimist Club of Raleigh is a service organization comprised of men and women with professional or business backgrounds. Club fundraising and service projects are for the benefit, encouragement and entertainment of the young people in our community. Sponsored programs include "Mile of Hope" (a weekend beach outing for childhood cancer patients and their families), "Safety on Wheels" (to promote bicycle safety), "Take A Kid Fishing" (fishing at the Optimist Farm), "Respect for Law", "Youth Appreciation Week" (scholarship awards for area high school seniors), and Oratorical and Essay contests -- all focused on serving young people. The Club also provides financial support to the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina (at Lake Waccamaw, NC). The motto of every Optimist Club is "Friend of Youth."

We plan to have a fun and successful summer swim season. The primary goal of our program is to provide children with a safe and enjoyable swimming experience. We will help the children to grow emotionally, socially, and physically, while advancing their aquatic skills. Teamwork and the principles of good sportsmanship will be emphasized. The HP Dive Team is a member of the Northern Virginia Swim League, Dive. NVSL Dive is an organization of 40+ community pool dive clubs in Fairfax County and Arlington. The mission of the NVSL is “to develop in the children participating in this program – A love for the sport, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork, and the principles of good sportsmanship.” *

Lakewood Golf & Country Club was chartered on August 11, 1926. The Club is located on Country Club Drive adjacent to the Kingsridge community and is only five minutes from downtown Tullahoma.
