Detailed description:
SERVICES OFFERED: Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD): A hands on technique performed by a therapist. Unlike traditional massage, it is designed to mobilize excess fluid from obstructed tissues and unblock lymph vessels, promoting proper lymphatic drainage.
Compression Bandaging: A bandaging technique used to prevent return of fluid and to assist in the continuous flow of lymph through the pumping action of the muscles and lymph vessels.
Therapeutic Exercise: Exercise assists in the mobility of the fluid, by the pumping action of the muscles. Also promotes flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Compression Garment: Once the swelling has decreased an individually custom fabricated compression sleeve is used to maintain reductions in swelling. Splinting Therapy is often critical post-operatively or following injury to obtain the maximum functional outcome for your patient. One of the therapist’s many roles include that of teacher to educate the patient in his injury, to instruct him in a daily exercise program and to provide encouragement during the healing process. The therapist must be “the eyes” for the physician by being cognizant of potential problems between doctor’s appointments, communicating with the physician of any complications, and rendering appropriate treatment according to the physician’s requests.
Therapy often begins with the removal of the plaster cast and a light weight removable splint is fabricated. With the unique use of LIGHT WEIGHT DURABLE THERMOPLASTICS, the involved part can be protected and results in comfort and greater compliance of the patient.
Wound Care:
