AREA TALLAHASSEE AQUATIC CLUB

Short profile:

ATAC is the standard of excellence in Tallahassee swimming and one of the top teams in the state of Florida. It initially began as the Tallahassee Swim Team (TST) in 1966 and evolved into the Area Tallahassee Aquatic club (ATAC) in 1979. Our swimmers have become high school state champions, Junior and Senior National qualifiers, Olympic Trial qualifiers, national Top-16 qualifiers, and Florida All-Star Team members.

The ATAC program has been evolving over the last few years to a true partnership between the City of Tallahassee and Performance Enhancement Enterprises, a Florida sports consulting corporation. The goal has been to enable the program to maintain a high degree of professionalism in services and maximize all participants’ opportunities to excel and enjoy successful experiences at every level of competitive swimming.

Detailed description:

A city sponsored (through the Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department), public access competitive swim team sanctioned through United States Swimming as the national governing body. ATAC has been in existence since 1966 first as the Tallahassee Swim Team and then in 1979 as the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club.

ATAC is a competitive swim team for swimmers 5 years old to adults. Offerings include a progressive grouping by ability levels in the general competitive program, a special needs program for children and adults through the Challenger program, and a high school conditioning program.
