Each day, families from Arkansas and nearby states participate in research studies at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). There is much for parents to consider before their children take part in a research study. This site will help you gain some general knowledge of what to know or ask to help you make the correct decision regarding your child’s participation in clinical research.

Each new and better way to improve children’s health is a miracle to children and their families. Research is the cornerstone of these health and medical care advances. Research is where miracles begin.

Researchers at ACHRI are addressing a broad spectrum of children’s health concerns, such as the biological mechanisms underlying birth defects; diabetes-related complications; and numerous childhood diseases, including asthma and cancer. Research expertise is diverse, ranging from basic science to clinical and community-based research. Researchers are improving the health of children, families, and their communities through clinical, basic science, health promotion, health outcomes, health services, and prevention research.
