Arkansas Children's Hospital, a private, nonprofit institution, is the only pediatric medical center in the state and is one of the ten largest in the nation. With 316 staffed beds, Arkansas Children's Hospital is a tertiary care, regional referral center treating children from birth to age 21, who come from every county in Arkansas and many nearby states.

The 5 North Progressive Rehabilitation Unit is located on the fifth floor of the main hospital. The unit consists of 10 semi-private rooms which includes the capacity for eight patients requiring ventilator support. The 5 North Progressive Rehabilitation unit is specialized to provide comprehensive services on an inpatient basis to address the needs of children and adolescents with physical and developmental disabilities. Team members treating children include: physicians and nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists, speech and language pathologists, audiologists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, child life and education coordinators, psychologists, social workers and discharge planning staff. Goals for the program include maximizing a patient’s functional independence, achievement of developmentally and socially appropriate skills and behavior, and the planning of an effective transition back to community-based support whenever possible.
The Adolescent Medicine Clinic at Arkansas Children’s Hospital provides a wide range of care for adolescents: Wellness and Primary Care, General Medicine, Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Sports Physical Therapy, Counseling and Eating Disorders. The program uses a multidisciplinary approach, including psychology/social work.
The Allergy Clinic accepts referrals for assessment and treatment of children with the broad spectrum of hypersensitivity and related aspects of clinical allergy. The most common diagnostic categories include: asthma, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, urticaria and angioedema, atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, insect sting allergy, food allergy and drug allergy.
