AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) is a nationwide, registered, non-profit organization divided into over 900 regions. South Irvine is Region 144, which is all of Irvine south of Irvine Center Drive. AYSO was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Hawthorne, California. The organization is dedicated to youth soccer and, at the Regional level, entirely relies on volunteers for its operation.
