Belo Corp. is a Dallas-based media company that owns 20 television stations and two regional cable television news channels. The company was previously known as A.H. Belo Corp. after one of the early owners of the company, Alfred Horatio Belo, now the name of the newspaper company spun off from Belo early in 2008. Belo has its headquarters in the Belo Building in Downtown Dallas, designed by Dallas architects Omniplan and constructed between 1983 and 1985.

Belo's close community ties, strong journalistic reputation, and intense regional focus have been nurtured and expanded over time, resulting in powerful media brands and business opportunities that are not easily duplicated by competitors.

Belo owns 20 television stations reaching 14 percent of U.S. television households, including WFAA-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth, KHOU-TV in Houston, KING-TV in Seattle/Tacoma and KTVK-TV in Phoenix.

Belo owns two regional cable news channels - Texas Cable News (TXCN) and NorthWest Cable News (NWCN) reaching more than three million households. Belo operates two local cable news channels in other markets in partnership with Cox Communications and owns two additional news channels.

Belo operates more than 30 Web sites, including some of the most popular local and regional news sites in the United States, that are associated with the Company's broadcast or cable media companies.

The company traces its roots back to 1842 with the introduction of The Daily News in Galveston, Texas. Its flagship, The Dallas Morning News, has been publishing since 1885. The name A.H. Belo Corporation was applied to the company in 1926. The name was shortened to Belo Corp. in 2002.
