Short profile:
Our goal is to promote an all around healthy lifestyle for your pet. We have scoured cities in the US to bring you information about the resources available in the city you live in.
In a world where capitalism reigns supreme over quality and ethical practices, the dog food industry is no exception. One would hope that the advertisements touting lamb, chicken, whole grains, and other wholesome ingredients really supply our beloved animals with the nutrients they need to be strong and healthy. But in reality, the brands that boast higher quality foods are owned by the same companies that make the lower grade foods.
Detailed description:
Lola roared into our home via the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California. As all dog owners know, the one-track mind of a curious puppy is easily swayed by delicious nibbles. Thus began the daily trips to the grocery store in search of tantalizing treats. We needed to teach Lola the necessary skills like high five, spin, roll over, and quit biting me. The smell of the store-bought treats was overpowering. The pungent odor of imitation meat and artificial additives sent us on a mission to research what we were really feeding our dog. The closer we looked, the more we scratched our heads. What is hydrogenated starch hydrolysate and why would it make Lola want to shake my hand? The seed was planted.
Bones Bakery was founded on the principle that high quality foods result in excellent overall health. We specialize in a variety of dog snacks made with high quality "human grade" ingredients. Our treats are crafted with items found in most household kitchens and don't have harmful artificial preservatives or “fillers.” Bones Bakery firmly believes that happiness starts on the inside.
