BRIDGEPORT MAGNETICS GROUP, INC. - TORTRAN DIVISION

Short profile:

Tortran is a division of Bridgeport Magnetics Group, Inc. a privately held corporation located in Shelton, CT and founded by Ulrik Poulsen to design and manufacture toroidal isolation and power transformers and toroidal inductors.

Tortran was incorporated in 1986 in Bridgeport CT. In 2008 a 40, 000 square foot factory in Shelton was acquired and Tortran and its sister company Alpha-Core Inc. became divisions of the newly formed Bridgeport Magnetics Group Inc.

Detailed description:

Using proprietary design software programs, computerized winding equipment and cores wound by its sister company. Tortran’s quick turn-around time and competitive pricing helped to build a loyal roster of happy customers from the very beginning.

For large volume production orders, close partnerships in Asia were established already in the very early part of the new century. With lower production costs, the toroidal transformer continues to replace the conventional E/I transformer also for high volume applications as the cost difference is now insignificant in view of the many advantages of the toroidal design.

The product lines of standard design have been expanded over the years.

Customs Design transformers for single phase can now be made up to 20, 000VA and 60, 000VA for three-phase applications.

We look forward to be working with your organization and your need of toroidal transformer products.
