Short profile:

Since 1938, Broad Street Veterinary Hospital has been a safe and friendly place for thousands of pets to receive regular care and emergency medical treatment. Services:

The most effective way to ensure a healthy life for your pet is an annual and/or semi-annual wellness exam. Preventative care is crucial for identifying and treating potential health problems.

As your pets grow older, they require more medical attention. It is recommended that older pets have two exams per year since they are at risk for health problems. Early identification of health issues will greatly increase the chance of successful treatment. Our doctors will not only perform screenings and tests, but will also offer advice for ensuring that your pet lives a long and healthy life.

Detailed description:

Up-to-date immunizations are vital for protecting your pet from disease. We offer all necessary vaccinations for both dogs and cats.

BSVH values and practices appropriate, comprehensive, preventative, and aggressive pain management for any patient suffering with acute or chronic pain.

We use state-of-the-art surgical lasers to improve healing and recovery time. Our advanced surgical technology allows us to perform a wide variety of procedures including: spay and neuter, declawing, tumor removal, laceration and abscess treatment, Caesarian section and numerous other procedures.

Diagnostic imaging (x-ray) enables us to use noninvasive techniques to see what’s happening on the inside of your animal and get to the root of the problem.

We have installed a new ultrasound machine that incorporates technologies that deliver deeper penetration, higher resolution and greater color sensitivity for advanced imaging. This results in a more confident diagnosis putting your mind at ease.

Our full in-house lab uses Idexx veterinary equipment to perform diagnostics such as complete blood counts, complete chemical profiles, electrolyte profiles, and parasite screening. This enables us to quickly and thoroughly evaluate our diagnostic laboratory tests.

We recommend that all of our patients have annual dental evaluations. When necessary dental procedures are performed while the pet is under general anesthesia for the comfort and safety of the pet. We also perform tooth extractions and necessary oral surgeries.

If your pet needs urgent attention and cannot wait for an appointment, please call or bring your pet in and we will provide treatment as soon as possible.

If you are planning to travel with your pet within the USA or abroad you will need a veterinarian-issued travel certificate. Our doctors are accredited by the USDA to issue these certificates, it states that the pet is parasite-free, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in good health.
