Brookwood Medical Center is a full-service medical facility that has been a part of the Birmingham community for more than 35 years.

Over 900 privately practicing physicians treat and refer patients to Brookwood, with over 200 physicians practicing in offices located in one of the four professional office buildings connected to the hospital.

For over 30 years, Brookwood Medical Center has provided comprehensive programs and services dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. We are committed to providing the advanced technology, quality care and highly skilled personnel to treat the cardiovascular needs of our patients. With over 60 cardiac and vascular specialists performing tens of thousands of diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures each year, it’s easy to see why physicians and patients throughout Alabama depend on the experience and expertise that Brookwood Medical Center’s cardiovascular program provides.

Our board-certified cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons and experienced support staff work together as an integrated team in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of heart and vascular conditions.

Brookwood's Center for Mental Health is Alabama's largest and most established behavioral health program. We currently have an inpatient program with over 100 licensed beds that are divided into a variety of different units to help meet the individual needs of our adult patients. Additionally, to help meet the needs of adult patients who do not require an overnight stay but who need more than outpatient counseling, we can offer our Partial Hospitalization Program.

In addition to offering a variety of inpatient and outpatient treatment options, the Center for Mental Health at Brookwood Medical Center offers a full range of adjunctive therapy options. Professionals providing mental health services include Recreational Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Discharge Planners, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors and an Art Therapist. These professionals provide all of the therapeutic activities offered in our program. Each unit offers a program schedule based on the acuity of the patient population. Activities on all of the units typically begin at 8:00 am and run until 8:00 pm seven days a week.
