Entertainment needs to be on the forefront of all development downtown. Entertainment through educational means, like a buffalo weather center. Recreation complexes that draw visitors far and wide. Water views, and water living stimulates the soul. Why else do people vacation and recreate on the water? Why do people spend their lives working to get their waterfront home with wildlife, and sunsets. Because it heals the soul that's why. Lets heal the souls of Buffalo and western New York. Buffalo needs year round recreation and education for the kids downtown. The Canal side project is a magnificent idea in a small step of what needs to be done for downtown Buffalo.

The current times pose huge challenges on all levels of redevelopment. Buffalo needs to have leadership and vision in place to see these tough times as opportunistic times instead. To utilize the new Green approach and govt. programs that fund Green projects. Green building and design reaches to all levels from sustainable buildings, all the way to the workforce and patrons. Create a great entertainment draw with year round use for the children and the adults. Pay the workers an above average wage, treat them like they are some of the best resources of the canal side project (which they are). Above average wage in Buffalo, is still low compared to what would be above average in cities like Toronto, Boston or NYC. I would always pay a little more to keep the smile on the face of Buffalo. No matter how hard you hit Buffalo the people of Buffalo are proud. The people in charge of economic development in Western NY, should be strong enough to stand up for its best resource, The People of WNY.

Jordon Levy, says he doesn't want to be bullied into a living wage. What do you call being in control of millions of tax payer dollars and then not wanting to negotiate a solution. Who is the real bully in this case. A living wage will bring sustained value to the canal side project. Why does it seem that everyone in charge in Buffalo seems to be so out of the loop. Have our leaders and tax paying citizens never left Buffalo and seen re development that works for the local citizens? Buffalo is declining and we have a chance to add value to the canal side project with a living wage. Jordon Levy is concerned about halting developers, and retailers via a mandatory living wage. Jordon, the people are subsidizing this, the people are going to be spending their hard earned money canal side.
