CARROLLTON ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC

Short profile:

Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic has always had an excellent reputation in providing quality care to patients of all ages. Our physicians treat many orthopaedic problems for people of all ages. They include general orthopaedic care for sprains, fractures, torn ligaments, muscle strains, back pain, and any musculoskeletal problem – if it hurts our physicians are here to help. West Georgia Rheumatology, an affiliate with Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic, is a practice encompassing the full spectrum of Rheumatology. Rheumatology deals with clinical problems involving joints, soft tissues and allied conditions of connective tissues. It includes vasculitis, all types of connective tissue disease, juvenile and adult rheumatoid arthritis, fibromylagia, and musculo-skeletal disorders among other rheumatological disorders. Rheumatology is a developing field of medicine. Major rheumatological disorders are now described as autoimmune disorders.

Detailed description:

Some of the newest developments have to do with laboratory analysis and therapy. Antibodies in the marketplace are used to “fine tune” the diagnoses of certain disease. There are molecular therapies and new biological treatments. Patients can expect a thorough and comprehensive exam and evaluation on their initial office visit.

Our goal is to treat the patients’ rheumatological disorders and help them to lead a near normal life without any disabilities.

Many of the orthopaedic surgeons at Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic have played sports and have been very active in sports activities. This “love of the game” has had a direct impact on their love of orthopaedics and specifically treating sports injuries. Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic believes in community service and as a result are very active with the athletes participating in sports. Our physicians work with Southern Therapy in providing orthopaedic care for eight area high school students in West Georgia and East Alabama. Our “bump and bruise” clinic occurs on Monday mornings to treat and care for their injuries. We also provide orthopaedic care for athletes at University of West Georgia. Dr. Greg Slappey, fellowship-trained in sports medicine, serves as the team physician. Regardless of age, you can be assured that Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic is the right destination for all your sports injuries.
