CASTLE MEDICAL CENTER - HARRY AND JEANETTE WEINBERG MEDICAL PLAZA AND WELLNESS CENTER

Castle’s Muscular Dystrophy Clinic is part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s nation-wide network of more than two hundred hospital-affiliated clinics. Located at Castle Medical Center, the clinic provides MDA families access to health care professionals who diagnose and medically manage the more than forty neuromuscular diseases that affect over five hundred people in the state of Hawai‘i.

Neurologists make initial examinations to establish a diagnosis. Once a person is diagnosed, the clinic team advises him or her on measures to maintain the highest possible quality of life.

The Muscular Dystrophy Clinic is part of the Outpatient Clinic on the ground floor of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Medical Plaza and Wellness Center on the Castle Medical Center campus. It is open from 8 a.m. to noon on the second Thursday of every month.

Castle’s Wellness and Lifestyle Medicine Center offers an array of health education and lifestyle-enrichment resources to keep Windward families healthy and fit. Classes, support groups, activities, events, and health screenings are open to the public and provided free or at a nominal charge. These include:

Presentations on various wellness topics, Wellness cuisine cooking classes, Nutritional counseling, Weight-loss management program, Monthly HMSA HealthPass screening, Body fat analysis, Fitness classes, Personal fitness training, Smoking cessation services, both group and individual.

MindBodySpirit forums; Support groups.

The Wellness and Lifestyle Medicine Center is located in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Medical Plaza and Wellness Center, which is in front of the left (mauka) side of the main hospital building on the Castle Medical Center campus.

Castle Medical Center offers a broad range of classes, lectures, health screenings, and support groups:
