CAT CARE CLINIC

Short profile:

The Cat Care Clinic is a full service veterinary hospital and outpatient facility designed exclusively for the treatment of cats. Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell founded the practice in 1991. We are located in the city of Orange, California.

We care about you and your cat and strive to offer the latest feline medical knowledge and veterinary technology available.

We all love our cats, but sometimes they behave in a manner which makes them hard to live with. At The Cat Care Clinic, we understand feline behavior and want to work with you and your cat to solve problems. Some behaviors are indications that a cat is not feeling well, while others indicate that a cat is stressed or uncomfortable in the environment. We will determine if the cause of the problem is medical or behavioral, and then work on individual treatment options. Therapy may include a combination of medication and behavior modification.

Detailed description:

At The Cat Care Clinic our vision is to:

Provide a clean and quiet environment for our feline patients without the stresses found in a traditional veterinary hospital.

Provide the latest in veterinary medical treatments and expert handling by a highly trained staff based on continuing education, consultation with other specialists, and monthly staff meetings.

Create personal and lasting relationships with our clients and provide them with the information needed to make informed decisions about their cat’s health and well being.

Promote preventive medicine and client education to keep our patients healthy and to allow them to live longer lives.

We offer comprehensive surgical services, including soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. We perform all routine and many advanced surgeries. Some surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis, while others require a short hospitalization.

Before, during and after surgery your cat is carefully monitored by at least one of our experienced technicians. We make sure that temperature and vital signs are maintained. We are able to monitor heart rate, respiratory rate, ECG, core temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure.

Surgeries requiring advanced training or specialized equipment are referred to a local board certified surgeon.

We believe that one of the most important aspects of feline health is attention to dental care. Dental disease is the most common problem we see in our daily practice. Poor oral health leads to bad breath, infections, heart disease, and chronic pain.

To maintain dental health, we carry a variety of home dental care products, including food and treats that help prevent tartar buildup and gingivitis, dental wipes, rinses, and toothpaste. Most dental disease is present below the gum line, and professional care under anesthesia is required to reach these areas.

Young animals with healthy teeth and a mild tartar buildup may only need a routine dental cleaning.
