Together, we are committed to finding and promoting solutions at the state and local levels that reduce poverty and human suffering in our state.

Catholic Charities of California is a not-for-profit, organization representing the twelve Catholic Charities Agencies in the State of California. Catholic Charities of California United is a separate that focuses of advocacy at the sate and federal levels of government.

Detailed description:

Local Catholic Charities Agencies have a proud tradition of providing services to individuals in California for well over a hundred years. Services are provided to those in need, regardless of religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, or any other issue that discriminates. We always respect those we serve.

Catholic Charities of California United that fights poverty and promotes self sufficiency at the State Capitol.

To further the charitable mission of the Catholic Charities Agencies in California to provide service to the poor and needy through the promotion, support, and encouragement of acts of charity, particularly toward the disadvantaged, the unprotected, the indigent, the sick, the aged, and youth.

Catholic Charities Agencies have served those who are poor and vulnerable in California for over 100 years. It is our proud tradition to serve those in need, regardless of income, gender, religion, race, age, and sexual orientation.

Catholic Charities of California is guided by the gospel values of justice and compassion. During the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the United States, in his address to the gathering of U.S. Bishops, he said: "Let me express my particular appreciation for the many forms of humanitarian assistance provided by American Catholics through Catholic Charities and other agencies. Their generosity has borne fruit in the care shown to the poor and needy."
