Cedar Springs Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment for individuals of all ages. The facility is at the foot of beautiful Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Cedar Springs offers a full range of services for patients from across the country:

Acute psychiatric, Residential psychiatric, Adult residential substance abuse treatment, Outpatient psychiatric, Special education day treatment, Chemical dependency dual diagnosis treatment.

Detailed description:

For the children and adolescents who come to Mountain View Place, we offer a structured, secure environment and a safe place to learn and change. We deeply value the role of the family in the healing of our patients, and we treat the family as a vital, integral component of our patients´ treatment. The typical stay for our residents is 90 to 180 days.

Services include:

Diagnostic and evaluation services, Intensive milieu therapy, Individual, group and family therapy, Occupational and recreational therapy, Specialized group therapy (substance abuse, eating disorders, survivors of abuse), Vocational planning services, Individualized education services (see Southgate School), Case management and discharge planning.

Criteria for admission:

Less restrictive treatment has not been effective or is not feasible

Presenting problem has had a duration of three months or longer

Must be stable to the point that the adolescent or child is able to remain free of life threatening or severely incapacitating symptoms

Severe challenges with:

Family relationships; Educational or vocational success; Social functioning; Behavior control; Psychological functioning; Problem solving; Adaptive behavior; Developmental growth and functioning.
