Chesapeake Hospitalists has continued to expand since its inception in 1999. It has always been our policy to ensure that staffing levels keep pace with that growth. Despite being the largest single hospital group in Hampton Roads and maintaining a retention rate far surpassing national averages, we are always interested to hear from qualified physicians seeking full or part-time work.

Despite the rapid growth of our group, our recruiting efforts have continued to focus on finding not only high quality physicians, but ones who value becoming a real part of the community. Though our doctors see maintaining the group’s independence as a primary goal, we do so because we feel that is the best way to positively impact our hospital and community.

Our program is based on the idea that each member plays an active role. All physicians actively participate in our decision making processes and in leading initiatives within the group. We feel this is one of the key reasons for our success and for the consistently low turnover rate among our physician staff.

The mission of Chesapeake Hospitalists is not only to provide the highest quality direct care to our patients; we actively partner with the hospital on committees, quality initiatives and educational programs to make Chesapeake General Hospital the hospital of choice in Hampton Roads.
