Detailed description:

CHCA is a catalyst for continuous performance improvement, networking 43 of North America’s leading children’s hospitals. Headquartered in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, CHCA provides a range of programs and services designed to improve the performance of children's hospitals. CHCA programs reduce hospital costs, increase revenue, strengthen the competitive position of children’s hospitals, and improve the quality of care for children. CHCA Owner Hospitals are widely known for their excellence in caring for America’s children.

Powered by access to exclusive, pediatric-specific data and driven by the commitment of 43 children’s hospitals to improving quality and enhancing performance, CHCA Owner Hospitals are working together to deliver safe, effective, efficient care.

Not only have they developed programs and services that help Owner Hospitals improve locally, but with CHCA research and development initiatives, CHCA is positioning its Owner Hospitals nationally to lead how pediatric care is measured for quality and reimbursement.

The medical needs of children are substantially different from those of adults. To meet those needs, children’s hospitals must have access to medical products and services designed and manufactured to meet the unique needs of children.

CHCA’s Group Purchasing Services division works closely with Owner Hospitals to return cost savings through a highly effective group-purchasing program, with strict adherence to the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA) Code of Conduct. CHCA’s goal is to address the areas of supply chain management that deliver children’s hospitals cost reduction opportunities with the greatest access to specialized pediatric products.
