The surgeon's input is valued and therefore the best equipment and technology is available which allows them to provide the best outcomes for their patients.

Physicians at Coast Orthopedic Surgery Center also perform a number of minimally invasive surgeries with the use of endoscopes (an instrument that provides a view the interior of the torso) and arthroscopes (an instrument that provides a view inside a joint). This technology allows orthopaedic surgeons to address various conditions of the spine, using only small incisions to position the scopes, a miniaturized camera, and small instruments. One of the most successful of these procedures is micro-discectomy to provide relief of pain caused by herniated discs that are compressing or pinching a nerve in the spine. A small incision of an inch or so is made, the disc fragment is removed from the spine, and pressure is taken off the nerve. Patients are generally kept at the surgery center overnight and go back to work in about a week to ten days.

Other endoscopic surgeries include those done to treat:

deformities, trauma, infection

or to perform a biopsy.

Insurance verification and surgery authorization must be completed prior to the date of your surgery to avoid cancellation. Should you have a co-pay or unpaid portion of your deductible, you will be contacted by our billing office prior to your surgery. Co-payments and deductibles are the patient’s responsibility and are due in full prior to surgery. On the day of surgery, please bring in your method of payment (cash, check or credit card). The center accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. You may also apply for Care Credit, a line of credit offered by the facility to cover the patient responsibility.
