Because of the unique needs of the special pets in our lives, we stress the importance of regular preventative check-ups. Thorough physical exams and preventative care are essential to prevent disease, and to detect it early to ensure the best chance of a successful outcome to treatment.

Dr. Trish Johnson is the proud new owner of the Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital of Charlotte. She grew up in Oswego, NY and has been working with animals and the veterinary profession since 1995. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from SUNY-Oswego in 1999. Her veterinary education then continued at Ross University and the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University and she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

Dr. Johnson then practiced in a large mixed animal emergency practice in upstate NY for 2 years working with cats, dogs, cows, horses, goats, and pocket pets. In April, 2005, she joined Help The Cats, a charitable organization that provides spay & neuter services for feral cats based out of Perry, New York. She brought her spay/neuter clinic experience to the table and a shared concern for the rural feral and stray cats lovingly called “the forgotten ones”. It was Dr. Johnson’s vision to see that these animals were given at least one chance in their lifetime at quality veterinary care.
