Connecticut Innovations provides strategic capital and operational insight to push the frontiers of high-tech industries such as energy, biotechnology, information technology, and photonics.

Over the years, CI has helped over 100 emerging companies research, develop, and market new products and services.

CI was created by the Connecticut Legislature in 1989. Since 1995, returns from its own prudent investments - not state money - have supported operations and new, forward-thinking funding programs.

In addition, CI is undertaking statewide efforts to provide state residents with clean energy alternatives for their homes and businesses through the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund.

Connecticut Innovations plays an important role in the drive to make Connecticut a global center of technology innovation. From sophisticated software to advanced biotechnology solutions to next-generation energy sources and beyond, Connecticut Innovations is eager to help technology of all kinds flourish in Connecticut.

In keeping with our mission, we invest in companies working in technology areas that offer the greatest potential for Connecticut's economy. Our funds and programs are focused on expanding the state's strengths in the following key areas:
