What is Term Life?
Term life insurance is designed to provide you with protection for a specified period of time, typically one, five, ten or twenty years. For instance, term insurance can ensure that your family will be able to pay off the mortgage, pay ongoing living expenses, or fund college education costs if you die prematurely while you still have outstanding debts or while your children are young.
Term life can provide either a level or decreasing death benefit. A level death benefit stays the same throughout the policy period. A decreasing death benefit, commonly used to insure a declining debt such as a mortgage, decreases as illustrated in the insurance contract, typically annually.
Detailed description:
To understand who we are, as an organization—what we believe and what drives our practices—it is important to have some understanding of how and why we began. The dates and statistics over the years are not as important as the philosophies and beliefs.
In the midst of the Depression, following the incredible expansion of the railroad into the Northwestern Region of the country, a bond was formed between railroad workers who wanted to help each other financially by pooling their modest resources. One man's savings was rewarded with the interest paid on a loan given to another.
Years later, as the economy changed, Spokane Railway Credit Union (SRCU) adapted by including the employers of other transportation systems and shippers. The membership grew and prospered, and in 2000, SRCU greeted the new millennium by again opening its doors to help even more inlanders in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Consideration of a name change was a serious issue for Spokane Railway’s Board, certainly because of the railroad heritage of both the credit union and the Spokane area itself, but also because of the fine reputation developed by the institution over the years. The name is now Numerica Credit Union, but the principle is the same.
In 2003, Numerica Credit Union merged the $40 million North Central Credit Union (NCCU) with approximately 8, 000 members and three branches in the Wenatchee Valley Area. NCCU brought a diverse membership to Numerica that included the State Highway District #2, Wenatchee Valley Schools, and Entiat Valley.
In October 2003, Numerica purchased property in Kennewick for a new branch that opened in December 2004. During the same time period, a merger was made with Coeur d'Alene Teachers' Credit Union, expanding their membership in North Idaho. During the years of 2007-2008, Numerica expanded service further by opening new branches in Pasco, Wash.; Hayden, Idaho; Airway Heights, Wash.; and Moses Lake, Wash.
