Dallas Neurosurgical & Spine (DNS) began in the early 1960s as a merger of two pioneering neurosurgical groups. Today, DNS is the longest-established private neurosurgical specialty practice group in North Texas, with six full-time physicians and five nurse practitioners supported by a large staff. The neurosurgeons at DNS bring together a diversity and depth of training received from prestigious medical programs across the United States. Each has exceptional skill in the latest, most innovative surgical techniques for neurological and spine disorders, including microsurgery, endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, Gamma Knife® focused radiation, complex and comprehensive spine surgery and nonoperative pain management. While brain surgeries are a large part of our practice, the majority of surgeries by DNS neurosurgeons are spine surgeries. People are often surprised to learn that neurosurgeons perform spinal surgery, but neurosurgeons are, in fact, the true experts for spinal diseases of all kinds. Each of our neurosurgeons has received specialized training in neurological disorder diagnosis and treatment of the spine through a seven-year residency – more surgical training than found in any other specialty. Our extensive medical training and years of experience mean DNS is unsurpassed in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders that affect the entire nervous system.
