Awareness + Action = Prevention®.

Detailed description:

The vision for the organization is to show through the actions of the Executive Director, Andrew P. Mandell - Mr. Diabetes® (and other diabetic staff members), that diabetics are neither helpless nor hopeless and can lead productive lives. DDF will provide accurate, reliable, up-to-date information about the self-management of diabetes and show how Mr. Diabetes© utilizes these techniques in his daily life to avoid the significant complications of the disease. He will put a name and face on the disease and show through his actions how to advocate for appropriate solutions to diabetic issues.

We are committed to continuing this work for the 24 million diabetics and 57 million pre-diabetics in the United States with the disease. Diabetes is a global epidemic and we are working with individuals and organizations worldwide to promote awareness, early detection and self-management of the disease.

The Foundation is supported through donations by concerned individuals and is operated by contracted, salaried and volunteer services.

Defeat Diabetes Foundation does NOT provide professional medical advice. The information we provide is intended to help you better understand diabetes. It is NOT intended to replace the advice of your physician.
