The Delaware Association for Addiction Professionals is a network of individuals who primarily live and/or work in the State of Delaware. They are committed to:
1. The development of unified goals in prevention and treatment of alcoholism, drug addiction, and related issues.
2. Cooperation with public and private agencies and organization concerned with the prevention, treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction.
3. Providing supportive services to the members of the Association.
4. Promotion of high standards of competency for those continuing employment or volunteerism in the field.
5. Promoting and supporting accredited continuing education in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction.
6. Promoting relationships with national, state and private associations of alcoholism and drug addiction.
Detailed description:
The purpose of this Association is to upgrade the quality of services offered to those affiliated and affected by the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction and to foster the professional well being of alcoholism and drug addiction counselors.
The mission is to promote and advocate for the profession of addiction professionals in meeting the needs of their clients and society in general.
Membership is open to all applicants who are interested in the purpose and objectives of the Association and who meet the qualifications for membership. There are two (2) memberships available: Voting Membership and Student Membership.
