Detailed description:

It doesn't matter if you have one outlet that doesn't work, or several electrical issues that need addressed. At Detail Electric there is no repair job to small or to large.

Our expert electricians have the experience and know how to get to the bottom of any electrical problem.

In fairly modern homes these outlets are GFCI protected to ensure safety during operation. A GFCI is an outlet with a test and reset button located on its face. Even if the outlet in question is not a GFCI device, it may be protected by one. Look around your home and push the reset buttons on the GFCI outlets. This may reset the power to the nonfunctional outlet.

This is a very common problem and most of the time it can be taken care of with a call to your power company. Your house has 2 power legs coming from the utility company. 120 volts per leg, they combine to give you 240 volts for the larger appliances, like electric clothes dryers, electric stoves, and air conditioners. A simple way to test to see if you have lost a power leg or "phase" is to turn on one of these appliances.
