Short profile:
Dominion Animal Hospital was started in November 1967 by Dr. Kermit O. Cockrell. As a young veterinarian, Dr. K.O.C had a deep love for animals and a vision of a veterinary hospital that treats pets with the same level of medical care and attention given to human patients. It was his insight and dedication to veterinary medicine that has brought Dominion Animal Hospital to where it is today - a four veterinarian, full-service facility offering the most progressive and up-to-date treatment for pets throughout Herndon and surrounding communities. In addition we maintain relationships with numerous specialists in the area for consultation and referral when necessary.

Vaccinations, Pharmacy, Pet food, Hills Science diet, IAM's/Eukanuba, Royal Canin, Purina prescription diets, Video otoscopy, etc. We are only one of a few hospitals in the Washington, D.C. area that offer this service. The Med-Rx video otoscopy and ear-i-gator system allows us to accurately diagnose and treat difficult ear problems. It allows us to educate the client and show them before and after pictures of their pet's ear.
Did you know that a family pet is lost every two seconds? Most never make it back home. Shelters do their best to locate owners, but without identification it is often an impossible task. Name tags are great, but collars are easily lost or removed. Overcrowded shelters can only keep animals a short time, so it is vital to get an identification as soon as possible.
We provide boarding services for our canine and feline clients.
