DR. BRENT NIELSEN DMD

Short profile:

Our practice is devoted to comprehensive and preventive patient care. We take great satisfaction in helping our patients maintain optimal oral health. Our goal is to provide Dentistry for the Quality Conscious.

We want you to look your best. We offer cosmetic dentistry to improve the appearance of a patient's teeth, mouth and smile.

Cosmetic dentistry can provide restorative benefits. Previously, most dental fillings were composed primarily of gold, amalgam and other materials that left visible dark spots on the teeth. Today, dental fillings may fall into the category of cosmetic dentistry, because you can select fillings made of porcelain or composite materials that closely match the color of your teeth. This helps maintain the natural appearance of your teeth and smile. Many people may choose to have their older fillings replaced with newer, tooth-colored fillings to enhance their oral appearance.

Detailed description:

Dental implants are a permanent solution to tooth loss. It is an artificial tooth used in place of a natural tooth. Implants are both stronger and more durable than bridges or dentures.

A patient may require a root canal if a tooth has become abscessed (infected) from decay, had trauma that results in exposre of the nerve or if a tooth is slowly dying. Root canal therapy can be performed in single or multiple visits. Your dentist will treat the tooth and either place a temporary filling on to close the tooth or choose to use a permanent filling.

Tooth extractions may be prescribed for several reasons. Your dentist could recomment an extraction if repairing a damaged tooth is not reasonable, if it is broken, cracked or extensively decayed, if there is advanced periodontal disease or teeth are malpositioned or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.

Oral and Nitrous Sedation: This allows the patient to remain fully awake during your dental procedure. Oral sedation is a pill which you will be asked to take one hour prior to your appointment. Nitrous oxide is a gas which you inhale. This is often referred to as the most nearly ideal clinical sedative. A local anesthetic will be administered in combination with nitrous oxide sedation to eliminate pain.

Our patients are important to us. If you have a dental emergency, please call our office. We will do everything we can to see you in a timely manner.
