DR. MICHAEL B. LEE D.D.S.

Short profile:

Dr. Lee is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has practiced in Cincinnati since finishing his residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1981. Prior to his residency he received a degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from Purdue University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is active in local, state and national dental and oral surgery organizations and serves the Ohio State Dental Board as an oral surgery consultant. He has lectured regionally and nationally on jaw reconstruction and obstructive sleep apnea.

Our surgical facility has been approved for office dental anesthesia by the Ohio State Dental Board and the Ohio Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in accordance to guidelines established by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Ohio State Dental Board.

Detailed description:

Two operating suites and adjacent recovery rooms are fully equipped. Portable emergency equipment is on the premises for patient’s safety in the waiting room and consultation areas. Recovery rooms are staffed by our nurses and surgical assistants to provide safety and assistance for our patients and their chaperones. SERVICES:

Providing routine office oral surgery in Cincinnati for over 30 years, Dr. Lee and his staff have supported the dental community and the patients they serve through comprehensive dento-alveolar surgery and office intravenous anesthesia. These services, which include the extraction of wisdom teeth and other minor oral surgery procedures are performed daily in our office. Much has changed in the past few years. Newer anesthetic medications, more effective pain management and the introduction of the Aquacool Rapid Recovery System have made undergoing oral surgery procedures safer and recovery shorter.

Orthognathic surgery is much more than “fixing the bite” and Dr. Lee’s philosophy of patient management mirrors that of nationally recognized orthognathic surgeons who practice the comprehensive style of jaw reconstruction to include harmonizing the facial bones to enhance aesthetics and performing jaw surgery to improve the patient’s airway.

Dental implants are now the standard of care for replacing missing teeth.

Sleep Apnea is caused by collapse of the airway during sleep and is a major health risk. It is associated with serious, even life threatening diseases that affect the heart, lungs and pancreas. It has been linked to hypertension, diabetes, and heart failure. Treatment has been problematic in the past.

Dr. Lee offers consulting services to medical and dental third party administrators for claims review and insurance policy/contract language clarification services.
