Drumset Books:
Contemporary Drumming Essentials: Volume 1
is written for the goal oriented drummer. What does this mean...? It means that it contains numerous co-ordination exercises designed to develop outstanding abilities in the rock and rock-funk styles of drumming. There is also a focus on developing the use of the left foot on the hi-hat as a time-source: 2&4, quarter notes, eighth notes and off-beats. In addition, there are several different ride ostinato patterns that will be developed: eighth notes, quarter notes, off-beats, eighth notes with accents "on" the beat and eighth notes with accents on the "and" of each beat(off-beats).
Contemporary Drumming Essentials: Volume 2 goes where few books dare to travel. This book WILL develop outstanding virtuoso, groove and improvisational skills on the drumset. It contains three sections: 16th note Grooves, Developing a Smooth Time-Feel and Interdependence Refined.
Section One - 16th Note Grooves contains exercises to help you develop both single-handed(RRRR) and double-handed(RLRL) 16th note funk style grooves with two and three surface ride patterns, 32nd note/double stroke rolls and open hi-hat accents over numerous bass drum variations.
