ELLSWORTH MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL

Ellsworth Municipal Hospital is located in the community of Iowa Falls. We provide Hardin County and the surrounding communities with local healthcare services and critical care. EMH is a critical access hospital and municipally owned facility. It is fully supported by the revenues of products and services it provides, as well as private donations from generous contributors throughout Hardin County. Operating as a municipal facility for over 100 years, we do not take in tax revenues of any kind. Over the last ten decades, EMH has continued to promote healthy living. Our physicians, nurses and employees strive to improve the health and quality of life of all those entering our doors.

Ellsworth Municipal Hospital owns and operates a number of area clinics. This relationship provides better reimbursements through insurance companies for these providers so that they can also offer up-to-date equipment and procedures. We are proud to include the following clinics as Departments of Ellsworth Municipal Hospital: Ackley Medical Center (Ackley); Ellsworth Family Medicine (Iowa Falls); EMH Surgery (Iowa Falls); Freedom House (Iowa Falls); and the Iowa Falls Clinic.

As a city-owned hospital, EMH is governed by a board of five elected Trustees: Steve Howard, Chair; Diana Ruhl, Secretary; Mike Stensland; Frances Fritz; and Amanda Wood. Ellsworth Municipal Hospital has firmly established itself as a comprehensive community hospital committed to high quality, individualized care.
