Wal-Mart Supercenters are hypermarkets that have in stock basically everything that a Wal-Mart Discount Store has, bud include a full-service supermarket, including meat and poultry, dairy products, garden produce, baked goods, delicatessen, frozen foods, and fresh seafood.

The functions implemented by Walmart are divided into three divisions: Wal-Mart Stores U.S., Sam's Club, and Wal-Mart International. The company does business in nine different retail formats: general merchandise stores, food and drugs, restaurants, bodegas, small markets, cash and carry stores, membership warehouse clubs, supercenters, apparel stores and soft discount stores. In the United States there are three major retail formats, namely discount stores, supercenters, and Neighborhood Markets. While the supercenters include more grocery items, the retail department stores sell mostly non-grocery products. The supercenters division includes Wal-Mart's online retailer, walmart.com. The discount department stores usually deal with general merchandise and a selection of groceries. Many of these stores also have a garden center, a pharmacy, a bank branch, Tire & Lube Express, a cell phone store, optical center, one-hour photo processing lab, portrait studio, and a fast food outlet. Some also have gasoline stations.
