The Stuhr Center receives more than 130, 000 visits every year. It offers arts and crafts, health and fitness classes, group tours and social events targeted to those 55 and older. A fourth renovation scheduled to begin next year will enlarge the fitness room, expand and remodel the lobby and reception area, add parking spaces and make structural upgrades.

Today, our housing program has grown to include 10 apartment complexes, a “family-style” adult residential facility, and a residential home for seniors. Fabric Café was founded as a result of mother daughter team, Donna Robertson, and Fran Morgan, having a desire to start a business together. They discussed several ideas before Fran, an avid fiber artist, began designing in stacked fabric chenille. She introduced Donna to this method of making chenille and Donna began experimenting with the process, all the while thinking there had to be an easier way. As they discussed the problems and explored solutions, they created a way to take the work and frustration out of making stacked fabric chenille.

Pre-Plan for a Successful Project For best results, have everything you need before you start. The condition of the wood you are finishing will help you decide what materials you need to do the job, such as brushes, sandpaper, stir sticks, tack cloth, etc. New Bare Wood You may prefer to stain the wood and apply a polyurethane, or you can simply apply the polyurethane over the natural wood. Unfinished Bare Wood Surfaces Keep in mind, even "new" bare wood can be dirty. Remove all hardware, knobs, hinges, etc. The surface must be clean and dry.
