Lancaster has a wonderful array of homes and buildings with architectural styles that include Contemporary, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Queen Anne. Located downtown is the Grant County Courthouse, which was built in 1905. Designed by architect Armand Koch, the majestic brownstone building with its octagonal glass and copper dome is visible for miles around. Inside the courthouse dome are four breathtaking murals painted by Franz Edward Rohrbeck. Built in 1922, another historic landmark in Lancaster, Wisconsin is City Hall, which includes a fabulous movie theater. This striking building designed by renowned architects Claude & Starck is an excellent example of prairie-style architecture.

Elaine Hahn, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, holds a BA and MA in Art from the University of Missouri, and has studied with noted artists throughout the United States, England and Mexico. Her early career was influenced by her experience at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. Elaine Hahn is a Signature member of the American Watercolor and the National Watercolor Societies. She is also a Signature member of the Florida Plein Air Society and a member of the Oil Painters of America. Her paintings have achieved prominence through acceptance and awards in major national juried exhibitions. Her works are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. She has taught and conducted Workshops in the US and Europe and has served as a judge in Art Shows on the local, regional and national levels.

This plein air workshop will instruct students in the process of creating a landscape painting at a coastal area in Santa Cruz County. Students will receive instruction in landscape composition, value patterns, color mixing, and paint application through presentations, demonstrations, and instruction at your easel. Prior painting experience helpful. First session, Sat Oct 30, we will meet at my studio. After a brief orientation, we'll walk to a nearby location to paint. We will meet at locations to be announced on the other 3 Saturday mornings. Students work on painting principles of composition, color, value and paint application. Michele demonstrates various stages in the painting process.

The American Numismatic Association is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to educating and encouraging people to study and collect money and related items. With nearly 33, 000 members, the Association serves the academic community, collectors and the general public with an interest in numismatics. The ANA helps all people discover and explore the world of money through its vast array of programs including its education and outreach, museum, library, publications, conventions and seminars. Today, ANA headquarters houses the largest circulating numismatic library in the world. Books, educational slide programs and instructional videotapes are loaned to members without charge other than postage and insurance. Also on the premises is a museum that includes extensive and ever-growing collections of coins, medals, tokens and paper money. Members may study the items on display and, by prearrangement, can use other museum materials for research purposes.

Assisting with the programs of the Olive Hyde Art Gallery Encouraging participation in activities involving visual arts . Broadening the scope and impact of the Olive Hyde Gallery in the City of Fremont and the Northern California art community. The gallery is open Thursday - Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, during exhibitions. Admission is free to the public.

For more than 200 years, Raleigh, North Carolina's capital city, had no repository for its historical artifacts, no place to preserve its past, and no institution to educate its citizens and visitors about the city's rich heritage. That all changed in 1993 when the Raleigh City Museum opened its first exhibit. The Raleigh City Museum, a private non-profit organization, grew out of the dream of Raleigh historian Beth Crabtree and after Beth's death, the vision and perseverance of Mary Cates. It was in 1990 that Mary Cates began bringing together a group of advocates for a Raleigh City Museum.

The mission of the Museum of Broadcast Communications (MBC) is to collect, preserve, and present historic and contemporary radio and television content as well as educate, inform, and entertain the public through its archives, public programs, screenings, exhibits, publications and online access to its resources. The MBC is an Illinois non-profit corporation that owns and manages two subsidiaries, Museum.TV and the National Radio Hall of Fame (NRHOF) and its website radiohof.org.

Although all modes of transportation were represented, the Museum focused on telling the story of Roanoke’s rich rail heritage. In 1976, a private non-profit corporation was established to operate the Museum, and in 1983 the Museum was designated as the Official Transportation Museum of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Subsequently, the Museum was renamed the Virginia Museum of Transportation.
