The North Temperate Lakes Long Term Ecological Research program studies the ecology of lakes as one of a network of sites established by the National Science Foundation to support research on long-term ecological phenomena. We are interested in how biophysical setting, climate, and changing land use and cover interact to shape lake characteristics and dynamics over time (past, present, future). Our primary study sites include a set of seven northern Wisconsin and four southern Wisconsin lakes and their surrounding landscapes. The project, which started in 1981, is administered by the Center for Limnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In 1938, the foundation’s first full year, Houston Endowment donated almost $15, 000; more than $11, 000 went to schools and colleges. The San Diego County Farm Bureau (SDCFB) is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1914 to promote and protect agriculture. The San Diego County Farm Bureau was one of the earliest organized in the state, the movement in the United States being about two years old at that time. The first formal meeting was held on Feb 20, 1914 at the Spreckels Theater in San Diego. The meeting consisted of several interesting “lantern slide lectures” and a “highly valuable and instructive lecture on the dairy cow using an excellent specimen sent in by Mr. Dupre of Lakeside.” (Source: minutes of first SDCFB meeting by Sec. Pro Tem H. A Weinland) Judge Andrews of Spring Valley was elected as the first president of the San Diego Farm Bureau at this meeting. Membership was $1.00 per farm family.

Routine EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Video-EEG, Cognitive services, Neuroimaging. Clinical neuropsychology assesses brain functioning through standardized behavioral tests and observation. Intelligence, memory, language, attention and concentration, and other mental activities are assessed. This evaluation can be part of a pre-surgical or post-surgical epilepsy work-up, to test a patient’s reported problems with thinking, or to diagnose dementia, an attention deficit disorder, or a learning disability, among others.
