In June 1971, Don Parrish, Sr. and Cecil Rhoades used their considerable experience in commercial and industrial transportation business and founded Commercial Warehouse and Cartage, Inc. Shortly thereafter, current Owner and President, Gregg Parrish, was hired as the first warehouse team member. Gregg's initiation into the warehouse business on the floor, on the forklift, in the truck, at the customer service desk and dealing directly with the clients planning and execution functions, laid the foundation for management involvement and accountability that has permeated 35 years of growth and expansion. Customer satisfaction and reliance on our "hands on", "do it right the first time", led to expansion beyond Fort Wayne. New geographic areas were added as clients asked us to establish or take over operations through out the Midwest, East and Southwest & Southeast.

We started our company because we saw real benefit for our families and for our clients, in owning our own business. “We can be more agile and responsive to customer needs when we own and control the business, which is really a win-win for everyone” Jere Van Puffelen, President 'Can-Do' Culture from CSRs, Forklift Operator, IT to Owners, And we've learned since founding Prism in 1993, that our people really are our most important asset. It's the commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement in each and every one of our people that has built our reputation for integrity, quality service and partnership you can trust over the years.

Saddle Creek's cost-effective and integrated logistics solutions, a history of strong customer support and the ability to meet a tight timeline for start-up were deciding factors for a national marketer of brand iced teas and other beverages to award Saddle Creek its California operation. We developed a solution, found a location and created a transition plan within 30 days in order to meet the timeline for start-up. It's not just the 966, 000 square feet of warehouse space or direct delivery or our array of contact packaging services. What really makes our Southern California warehousing and distribution campuses stand out is our team of experienced professionals. Our customer was looking for a 3PL known for its ability to provide excellence in operations execution when developing their “Logistics Network of the Future”. This stand alone 294, 000 square-foot facility supports one of our customer's large manufacturing plants, as well as supporting their regional DC network. Saddle Creek provides warehousing and distribution services, inventory control and value-added project management operating on a 16/5 plus schedule. Opening its doors in January 2008, Saddle Creek was responsible for the building make ready and initial build-up of inventory. The year was 1966. Terms like "logistics" and "supply chain management" were certainly not industry buzzwords. Yet, our founder and CEO David Lyons had a vision for an organization that would deliver competitive, dependable distribution services based upon these general concepts. Saddle Creek was founded that year, and as they say, "the rest is history."
