His roots in the industry go back to Italy where Mike's grandfather, Lorenzo, started as a young boy, learning the mechanics of hand made clay bricks. This artistic talent was passed on to Mike's father, Michael, Sr. He later brought his trade to America where he started his own installation company in Brooklyn, New York. He worked side by side with his installers, all of which came from Italy.

High Performance Concrete (HPC) refers to concrete with a specified compression strength of 6, 000 psi (40 MPa) and greater. In fact, Prairie has had great success with HPC mix designs at upwards of 21, 000 psi. HPC can be specified for a number of applications: The most common use of high-strength concrete is for construction of high-rise buildings.
