The respiratory system serves two main functions in the body. First, it allows oxygen to be transported from the air into the lungs with each inhale. Conversely, it removes carbon dioxide from the blood stream with each exhale. Secondly, with each breath, oxygen is absorbed by the lungs and then transported to the rest of the body by the blood. Oxygen is needed in each cell to keep the cell alive. Without oxygen, all our cells die and in turn, we die. The respiratory system is designed to ensure that all our cells have access to life sustaining oxygen.

IVP is an x-ray of the urinary tract. It involves the injection of a special substance called contrast that is filtered by the kidneys and helps visualize the urinary tract. A KUB (kidneys, ureter, and bladder) is a standard x-ray that will show many stones. Urinalysis examines a urine specimen for infection, blood, or other abnormality. Urine culture and sensitivity shows if the urine is infected and determines the specific bacteria as well as the appropriate antibiotic for treatment. Urine cytology evaluates the urine for cancer cells. Urodynamic testing examines bladder and sphincter function. It involves putting a small tube in the bladder and asking the patient questions while slowly filling up the bladder and measuring pressure.

Hours: M/W/F 2pm – 6pm; T/T 8am – 12pm. Dr. Anacker adjusts patients that range in age from one-day-old babies to the elderly. She uses a variety of techniques and styles of adjusting while the primary technique she uses is the Gonstead Technique. She analyzes the spine with her hands and with instruments called the nervoscope and subluxation station, all of which detect heat changes muscle spasms, swelling (edema), & joint fixation. She also uses spinal x-rays if needed. These findings indicate nerve interference called “the subluxation.” Subluxation is the definition of what the chiropractor addresses while analyzing the spinal structure, looking for areas of decreased function in the nervous system.
