The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is a service based non-profit organization headquartered on Capitol Hill in Montgomery. Producer and member driven, the ACA’s mission is two-fold: To promote beef consumption through producer checkoff assessments and to protect and enhance the business climate for cattle production in Alabama through member dues. The start of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association began with Luther Fuller, a farm products agent for the Tennessee Coal, Iron, and Railway Company (T.C.I.) based out of Birmingham, Alabama. T.C.I. sold metal and steel products such as wire fencing, metal gates, feed troughs, as well as basic slag to cattlemen and farmers. During World War II, cattlemen were disadvantaged by rationing of beef and other food supplies as well as price roll-backs on beef. Fuller recognized that his customers and their industry were under attack and the best way to defend them was to get them organized.

Bradley Construction has been selected to construct the new 10, 000 sf Service Facility for the Clearwater, FL nonprofit organization, Homeless Emergency Project. The building will serve as offices for the staff and meeting facilities for the clients of HEP. The state of the art building will be steel construction with design parameters sufficient to meet or exceed the LEEDS Silver Standard for a Green Building.

DKC holds two Dog Shows yearly. Our Spring Show in March is part of a 7-day circuit held in Raleigh at the State Fairgrounds. Our Fall Show in September is part of a 4 day Labor Day circuit held in Raleigh at the State Fairgrounds. Both shows offer conformation judging and obedience competition. Our club holds Tracking Trials and several Canine Good Citizenship Tests annually. The Club also holds a 2 day Obedience trial in December, in addition we also hold 2 Agility Trials a year one in April and the second in September. DKC offers to its members and to the general public classes in both obedience and conformation show handling.

With 54 natural areas, and contributions to the protection of federal, state and municipal lands, there is a nature conservancy site to visit in every county in Vermont. More than a hundred of these sites are open to the public and ideal for hikers and paddlers to visit and explore. We invite you to do just that. The Nature Conservancy has been working on an exciting new venture the two-stage ditch design with local farmers to improve the function of drainage ditches in a way that will help agriculture and the environment. The USDA and the Nature Conservancy's Indiana Chapter are asking Hoosier to help in our efforts to help stop the spread by participating in our volunteer forest pest survey.

Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following media: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists may apply individually or as members of collaborative teams of two or three persons. They are selected by panels of other professional artists without regard to financial means. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board, and studio. Founded in 1900 by the financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, herself a poet, Yaddo is an artists' community located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. Its mission is to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment.
