Dr. Scott Leune was born in the Netherlands and moved to a small central Texas town where he went to high school. After attending Texas State University, Dr. Leune graduated with a doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio. It is here in San Antonio where he met and fell in love with his wife Cassandra. They love the small town feel and culture of San Antonio, and have settled down here to start a family.

Injury treatment is the leading cause of medical spending for children. The estimated annual cost of unintentional child injuries in the United States is nearly $300 billion. CorpMed was founded in 1997 by Dr. Kevin Byrne, a board certified occupational physician and a former medical director for AT&T. The Ergo Clinic grew out of Dr. Byrne’s extensive experience treating patients afflicted with cumulative / repetitive injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis. Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center has come a long way since 1897, when the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry overcame near-impossible odds to open a two-room hospital in Hartford’s Asylum Hill neighborhood. The new hospital offered a refuge for immigrants who wanted to know that their faith and traditions would be understood and appreciated if they ever needed inpatient care. From the beginning, Saint Francis served on the front lines against outbreaks of then-deadly infectious diseases, from typhoid fever to influenza and later polio. At the same time, Saint Francis doctors were quick to recognize that improving health required more than clinical work, and the first research laboratory opened in 1902, the same year that tuberculosis was reaching epic proportions in Hartford and across the United States.

9am-12 pm. Annual vaccinations. Puppies require a series of vaccinations (“puppy shots”), starting at 6 weeks of age. The vaccinations are given every 2-3 weeks until the puppy is 4 months old. A typical puppy is vaccinated at 6, 9, 12, and 16 weeks of age. This series is vitally important to protect puppies from potentially deadly infections from diseases such as canine distemper, parvo virus, and corona virus. A puppy’s immune system is not fully competent until around 16 weeks of age; therefore, a full series is given to ensure full protective immunity. Dogs 3 months of age or older which have not received any vaccinations or that have an unknown vaccination history (e.g., a stray) receive an initial set of vaccinations (distemper, parvo, corona, bordetella) and a second booster set 2-4 weeks later. Rabies is administered at 3 months of age or older, does not require a booster, and is then administered annually.
