Glendale Community College was founded in 1927 to serve the needs of the people in the Glendale Union High School District which included La Crescenta, Glendale and Tujunga. The school was founded as Glendale Junior College and from 1927 to 1929 conducted classes in the buildings of Glendale Union High School at Broadway and Verdugo in the City of Glendale. In 1929 the junior college moved to the Harvard School plant of the Glendale Union High School District where it remained until 1937. The year before, in 1936, the Glendale Junior College District was dissolved as such and became a part of the new Glendale Unified School District. The name of the school was changed to Glendale College in 1944. On July 1, 1970 Glendale College became a part of the Glendale Junior College District. On April 20, 1971 the Board of Education adopted a resolution changing the District name to Glendale Community College District.

The NDIA has maintained its leadership role largely through a dedicated membership and through volunteer efforts. The Board of Directors is comprised of three General Officers and four Area Directors. The General Officers serve a two-year term and are nominated and elected by the entire membership. The Area Directors serve a two-year term and are nominated and elected by the regional membership. General Officers and Area Directors are elected in alternating years. All officers must be full-time Defender investigators. This election process provides the membership with excellent representation and addresses regional interests and concerns as well. We offer two conferences per year in alternating locations across the country. Our national conference, held in the spring every year, attracts over 400 investigators paralegals and other defense professionals, from almost every state, our regional conferences, held in the fall, are held in smaller venues and bring in 100 - 150 attendees.

My specialty areas are: horse problems, teaching Natural Horsemanship, and helping horse owners to have a deeper and more productive relationship with their horse. The method I use and teach is Natural Horsemanship (NH), sometimes called Horse Whispering. From studying with and learning from a great many natural horsemanship masters, and practicing NH in the training of hundreds of horses for many years, I have honed a training philosophy that is simple: horse handling and riding should be safe and enjoyable, and horse training should be gentle, but effective. Learning from all the great NH trainers has created in my training repertoire a large, effective collection of Natural Horsemanship training techniques to refer to in helping horse owners solve any horse problem.

In 1949, his family moved to Taiwan, where he spent twenty-five years studying with the most respected kung fu masters. His principal teacher was the renowned Grandmaster Liu Yun Chiao. Master Hsu earned a master's degree in Chinese literature at Taiwan Normal University, one of several prestigious institutions where he taught both kung fu and Chinese literature. He has held many honorable positions, among them the General Secretary of the National Kung Fu Federation of Taiwan, Instructor to the Republic of Liberia, and Member of the Republic of China National Kung Fu Delegation.
