Lochner celebrated the grand opening of its new office location in Rockford, Illinois. First Rockford Group and Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey were in attendance and welcomed Lochner, Municipal Design and Environmental Services, and Artisan Consulting Engineers to the neighborhood. The new office is located at 100 Park Avenue in Rockford, Illinois. Lynn Iaquinta, P.E. has joined Lochner as the Salem, Oregon Office Manager. Ms. Iaquinta will serve as the lead Structural Engineer and oversee the day-to-day operations and business development for Lochner’s business in Oregon.

Chicago-based transportation consulting engineering firm H.W. Lochner, Inc. (Lochner) is the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority’s construction management consultant for the $44.5 million Design-Build project for the proposed improvements of the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) between Mile Post 116.7 to Mile Post 117.5, including the Fox River Bridge, IL 31 and IL 31 Ramp Bridge in Kane County, Illinois. The Fox River Bridge project, one of the first Design-Build contracts in Illinois, increases capacity on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) from two to three lanes with full shoulders in each direction and replicates the appearance of the 51-year-old existing bridge.

Lacey Parkway: This Lochner project incorporated a number of sustainable design solutions, including narrowed roadways for slower traffic and to minimize runoff; stormwater treatment; use of recycled construction materials; and drought-resistant vegetation irrigated with recycled water from a nearby sewage treatment facility.

One of the first comprehensive highway design software systems called HDPS, was developed by Lochner. HDPS was endorsed by FHWA and many state DOTs.
