  • For over one hundred years, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School has provided a quality education and the basis for sound character formation for thousands of youngsters. The school first opened in 1903 in the old wooden chapel that served as the original church. Ten Sisters of the Presentation of Mary arrived to staff the school and assume its direction. Over two hundred sisters served with the students before the advent of lay instruction in the 1960s. Five hundred thirty-four students enrolled the first year, and the steady enrollment during successive years led to the construction of the school as we know it now. Work on the school building began in 1924, and in the following September the doors to this magnificent structure opened. From that first day to the present, Holy Rosary School has striven for excellence in education. It has kept abreast of new methods and recent developments in education.
